La Prairie Skin Caviar Absolute Filler – Where time retreats

La Prairie's short film, showcased at the launch of the new Skin Caviar Absolute Filler, celebrates the harmonious synchronising of art with the science of luxury skincare

The beauty (and challenge) of creating a great product is to find ways to keep making it better. Swiss luxury skincare brand La Prairie’s Skin Caviar Collection is already a hit with beauty fans, and its latest innovation brings up the popular range several notches.

At the heart of the new Skin Caviar Absolute Filler is a technological method of pressing and centrifugation, which releases the essence of the caviar’s lipids and proteins for the formula. Containing highly concentrated caviar oil and caviar protein, the Caviar Absolute extract is blended with brown algae and peony root extracts, and an exclusive cellular complex to gently lift skin and restore its density and plumpness from within.

Launched in tandem with the new filler is the brand’s two-minute Art Basel-inspired short film,  shot on location at La Prairie’s famed Montreux clinic in the Swiss Alps, and voiced over by Somali-American poet Ladan Osman.

Featuring dramatic wide-angled shots that frame the expansive Swiss Alps, interspersed with the making of the brand’s signature products, the Skin Caviar Luxe Cream and Cream Platinum Rare, the film bears testimony to a quiet and determined resistance against the ravaging effects of time on skin.

La Prairie Skin Caviar Absolute Filler is available from 1 September 2017 at La Prairie counters
