Artist Transforms Into Comic Book Superheroes With Stunning 2D Body Paintings

Professional cosplayer and fashion designer Kay Pike has been bringing comic book characters to life by painting them onto her body.

She has shared videos of her efforts on her Instagram page, recreating characters like Thanos, Captain Marvel, and Two-Face in a bold and colorful graphic style that is similar to comic book drawings.

Dark Phoenix is who I painted last time on http://www.twitch.tv/kaypikefashion This insanely powerful very complex character was a joy to create in paint. I used a viscous amount of ambient orange lights and back-lighting of red. Light was affecting every paint choice 😀 It was a Challenge as always to to the extreme contrasts with the style. I last did it with Robin. The animation was fun too, We turned up the gel lamp and tied it into the blowing animation. Im a little overly critical of this one, I rushed the bust down, because 10pm ha. Im tyring to practice a spandex glow without being symetrical….. But thats okay were our own worst critics. Had fun as usual. Thanks again for everyone who kept me from quitting when the paint was flaking, and not going on opaique. I was table flipping and you took me back down to bob ross mode 🙂 You guys are awesome. I learned alot as usual. Including how to get my hair on top of my head.
